Our family just got home from a quick trip up to Dallas to visit my sister Becky. We roughed it camping (one night) and I have found that I have quite the little trooper. Austin loved every minute of it. Unfortunately, the camera seems to be lost in the heap of strewn about our home. So I will have to properly document the event another time and possibly another place :).
Despite the raiding and unkind thoughts I have experiences in regards to the MIA camera I started thinking about "Life". While I love school and am amazed at how much I have learned, I also can't even begin to explain how much it hurts to be a mother outside of home. With that said, I have decided to document some of my few precious moments being a mother.
Greg brought me some supplies one day at Baylor. As I came to the car, I opened the back door to give Austin a quick kiss. He then demanded, "SIT!" with a stare that would allow nothing else. So I laughed, and sat down next to him saying, "Okay, just for a minute." Just as I shut the door, Austin pointed forward and exclaimed, "LET'S GO!!". I wanted to laugh, cry, kiss and hug him all at the same time. It's not everyday your almost-two year old tries to kidnap his mother.
Greg or I often sing to Austin just before he goes to bed. One night he was laying in my arms while I was singing the primary song "A Child's Prayer". For some reason, every time I sang the word 'speak' he would bust out laughing like it was the funniest thing that he had ever heard as he repeated the word back to me about 10 times mid laugh.
Austin loves to run in "circles". He loves it so much, that when ever present he makes sure that "mommy circles!" too.
The other day, it was beautiful. I talked Greg into taking Austin swimming while I studied by the pool. Afterwards (post bath) he was still shivering a little bit, so I bundled him up in a plethora of blankets on the couch so that he looked like a human cone, and put on his favorite show "Finding Nemo." He didn't move for like 10 minutes. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen! I wish I had taken a picture before he broke out!
The pics have been saved!! (why is it Greg can find it within 30 seconds. drives me nuts)
